Exactly 11 years ago to date, while Victoria was waitressing at the iconic late Florent diner in the meatpacking, whilst pursuing writing and social commentary, she was introduced to the Israeli artist, Nir Hod. The introduction was made by the founder of Max Brenner. She was told she reminded them of one of the Eastern European girls in the paintings Nir was creating at the time. (How she caught the artists' and chocolatiers' eye to begin with.) A friendship began that blossomed and evolved over the many years that have gone by, becoming somewhat of co-muses in the creation of art form.

At Iris & Virgil, we are lucky for so many reasons, like loving what we get to do, and excited to get out of bed in the morning to tell stories in flowers. We share that feeling with an incredibly talented group and female owned business, Harley & Co. which focuses it's energies on creating unique experiential events for their clients, and story-tell using a deeply layered patina of emotions and visual textures to craft truly organic and unique moments in time for their brand partners.

Is there no higher compliment to pay than to entrust your hair to someone and let them work their magic?  As women undoubtably know, our hair so intrinsically a part of how we experience our own appearance, how we want the world to see us,  and how we armor ourselves to go out into it.  That person for the girls at Iris & Virgil is Janelle Chaplin, Global Creative Director of Original & Mineral.  And yes, she's magic.

We’re so excited to introduce our second #MondayMuse, Mickey Ashmore.  If you’ve ever walked down 12th street in the East Village you may have seen ‘Sabah House’, the first home of the hand made shoes that Mickey fell in love with on a trip to Turkey in 2013. 

We are thrilled to announce that our first #MondayMuse series is now live! We wanted to start #MondayMuse, a weekly series that would hopefully inspire conversation with those that inspired and supported us, and that would highlight those people in our community as wonder women and men, because of all that they do, finding resonance in our journeys, and aligning in synchronistic ways.
